Today I got up, had a shower and my muscles felt stiff so I shall not run today.

Patrick Makau, after setting a world record in the marathon.  I guess he deserves at least a day off.

Inspired by this post on Gizmodo, I decided to dink around on Google Trends.  For “marathon,” there is a pretty obvious spike for Boston in the spring, and then smaller spikes for NYC and maybe Chicago or something later in the fall.  Something of note - this year’s fall peak was as big or bigger than the Boston peak, due to the Chilean miner running NYC.

When I saw my race bib number, I knew it was going to be a good day at the races. 
(Immediately had to borrow a Sharpie from a volunteer to make the tiny, yet oh-so-very-necessary, POINT.)
